Edits Are Hard

They really are, but more than that they’re time consuming. I’m a third of the way through my first edit run of The Other Whisper and it seems to be eating up all my time. Well, all the time that isn’t already occupied by eating, sleeping and my actual job. It’s leaving less time for the website and facebook page, which is annoying, but I guess there’s only so much of me to go around.

The good news is that edits are going well. The rough edges are being sanded away and hopefully when we’re done we’ll have something amazing.

Speaking of amazing, I’ve started writing The Other Foe, the sequel to The Other Whisper (Just one more thing to juggle I guess :p).

Watch this space for more updates.

  1. How long is the book? I can imagine you’re under pressure if the book is due out later this year, especially for your first.

The book is just over 80,000 words. It was already edited for submission to a competition, but I’m still surprised at how many little things are coming up. Thankfully I’m halfway through the first editing run, I’m hoping there won’t be more than 2 or 3 runs through.
